The artwork may be used for personal, non-commercial purposes only. The client may display, print, or share the artwork for their own personal use but may not use it to advertise a business, promote products or services, create merchandise for sale, or otherwise generate revenue.

Example: A client commissions a custom portrait to frame in their home or post on their personal social media.

The artwork may be used to promote or support a business, brand, product, service, or other commercial activity within the uses specified in the agreement. Commercial-use rights do not automatically include merchandise, resale, exclusivity, or ownership of the copyright unless those rights are specifically granted.

Example: A business commissions an illustration to use on its website, social media, advertisements, or marketing materials.

The artwork may be reproduced on physical or digital products that are created for sale or resale, subject to the terms of the license. This can include apparel, prints, stationery, packaging, stickers, accessories, or other products featuring the artwork.

Because the artwork directly contributes to a product being sold, merchandise rights can be priced separately from standard commercial use.

Example: A client commissions an illustration and wants to print it on T-shirts that customers can purchase.

Art of Alana reserves the right to display completed work for portfolio, promotional, and self-marketing purposes unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.

For confidential projects, you can agree to delay publication or waive portfolio use.
